These terms cover accounts, learning requests, live sessions, per-minute time and the in-app wallet — for learners and for Masters.

This is a general template written for the Octaleus product. Have it reviewed by your legal advisor, and adjust for the jurisdictions you operate in, before launch.
These terms apply when you use the Octaleus mobile app or this website. By creating an account or using Octaleus, you agree to them.
Octaleus is a platform that connects learners with independent experts, called Masters, for live one-on-one sessions. Octaleus is not the provider of the teaching itself.
You must give accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
You must meet the minimum age permitted in your country to hold an account. Accounts may not be shared or transferred.
You publish a learning request describing what you need help with. Relevant Masters may respond, and you choose who to speak with.
Sessions take place as live video inside the app. The first 60 seconds of a session are free so you can decide whether the fit is right before paid time begins.
Guidance given in a session is the Master's own. Use your judgement, especially for anything involving safety, tools, vehicles, electricity, health or legal and financial matters.
Masters complete verification before appearing to learners and must keep their profile information accurate and current.
Masters act as independent providers, not employees of Octaleus, and are responsible for the quality and legality of the guidance they give and for their own tax obligations.
Misrepresenting expertise, credentials or identity may result in removal from the platform.
Paid session time is billed by the minute after the free first minute. There are no fixed packages or subscriptions.
Charges are taken from your in-app wallet. You are responsible for maintaining a sufficient balance for the session time you use.
Masters accumulate earnings in their wallet and can request a withdrawal, subject to verification and any applicable processing timelines and fees.
You may end a session at any time; billing stops when the session ends.
If a session was disrupted by a technical fault, or something went materially wrong, contact us and we will review the session record and respond fairly.
Treat other people on Octaleus with respect. Harassment, discrimination, illegal activity and attempts to take sessions or payments off-platform are not permitted.
Do not record, copy or redistribute sessions without the other person's consent, and do not misuse the platform, interfere with it or attempt to access it in unauthorised ways.
You keep ownership of the content you create, such as your learning requests and profile material, and grant Octaleus the permissions needed to operate the service.
The Octaleus name, app, website and branding remain the property of Octaleus.
Octaleus is currently offered through the iOS and Android apps. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
To the extent permitted by law, Octaleus is not liable for outcomes arising from guidance given by a Master, or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or puts other people using Octaleus at risk. Outstanding wallet balances are handled in line with applicable law.
We may update these terms as Octaleus develops. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email before they take effect.
